Get hands on and learn how to process your own meat chickens at home!
This class will walk you through two methods of chicken harvesting.
1st method; Skinning a chicken. This is ideal if you only have a few chickens to do, or you don't want skin on your chickens. This method only requires a knife, and no further equipment, keeping your overhead and setup time to a minimum.
2nd method; plucking a chicken. This is the method you want if you want skin-on chicken carcasses, or if you are doing a lot of chickens to do. This method covers all the technical details of getting a succesful pluck without destroying your bird.
This class also covers evisceration, organ identification, organ harvesting, and parting your bird to all the classic cuts.
After demonstration is complete, attendees get hands on with their very own bird, under supervision.
*This class involves live animals, sharp objects, hot water, and moving machinery. Attendance to this class is a release of liability.
